Attendance in early grades builds a foundation for students in later grades. Students gain positive habits, strong academic foundations, and confidence to succeed throughout school. Research shows a direct correlation to chronic absenteeism and reading levels in 3rd grade!

Mrs. Brabham and Mrs. Cash's 5th grade RTI class did a book signing today for the book they created and published. Theri book was entered into The National Book Challenge Contest.

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 30th, is picture retake day. It is also Neon Color Day to show that our future is drug free and bright!

We understand that providing consistent, nutritious food for your family can sometimes be a challenge. At Hawkins County Schools, we want to help carry that burden. Our Child Nutrition team is dedicated to supporting your student's academic success by ensuring they never have to learn on an empty stomach.

Second Harvest Food Distribution Tuesday, October 28. Cherokee High School in the football field parking log from 10:00am to 10:45am. Volunteer High School in the football field parking lot (enter on Volunteer Blvd.) from 1pm to 2pm. No preregistration necessary.

As we begin the 2nd nine weeks, with only 44 days completed if your child has missed more than 4 days of school they are on track to become chronically absent. If you're unsure about your child's attendance, please consult our school nurse or counselor. They can provide guidance and support to ensure your child's success in school.

Bus 8 will be a double route AM and PM 10/3/2025. Students will be picked up and dropped off later than usual.

Tomorrow, Friday, September 26th, is our Glow Dance!! Concessions will be available for purchase. The dance will end at 5:30 and students will exit at the lower entrance in the Car Rider Line. Please make sure you have your green car rider tag. If a car rider tag is unavailable, please visit the main office with your photo ID.
