‼️‼️‼️ Please Read‼️‼️‼️
For Monday, August 5th ONLY, we will be using the afternoon route for both morning and afternoon car duty! *Families who do not have a car rider tag, may pick one up Monday morning with proper ID.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
We have had a few questions regarding our drop-off/pickup process for car riders. Below is a diagram for both drop-off and pickup.
🐾 Morning Drop-Off: Families will use the parking lot closest to Food City. Once you turn off of Park Blvd., you will pull straight up to the flag pole and drop your student off there. There will be a teacher on duty to ensure your child gets into the building safely.
🐾 Afternoon Pick-up: Families will use the same parking lot for afternoon duty as they do in the morning. However, once you pull into the parking lot, you will pull to the left and wait in line until your child’s name is called by a staff member on duty.
‼️At HES, safety is our top priority! Therefore, anyone picking up a student in the car rider line, will need a car rider tag. If you do not have a tag, you will be asked to pull over to the main parking lot and go to the office to sign the child out.

School begins on Monday, August 4, 2025. Dismissal on the first day will be 11:30am.

Hello Hawkins County Schools Families,
To improve bus service for all students, we are asking every family who needs bus transportation for the 2025-2026 school year to complete a new online form.
This quick form will help us create more accurate bus routes, schedules, and student lists, ensuring your child has a safe and reliable ride to school. This form must be completed each year for every student who plans to ride the bus.
Please complete the form here: https://bit.ly/HCSbusform
We will have computers available at back-to-school nights for any family who needs assistance. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe!

The above link is for the 2025-2026 Hawkins County Schools Bus Transportation Request.
This is a form that will now be required each year for every student requesting bus transportation. This is the only way to ensure that the appropriate students are assigned to routes and that route times and ridership numbers are correct for the upcoming year. We will be posting this to our Facebook page, the webpage, requesting that the schools share to their respective pages and we will also be sending out a notification all-call beginning Monday to start this process. Additionally, we would request that each school site have a laptop or access available during back-to-school nights for parents that come through and need to complete the form during that time who may not have access to a computer at home.
We understand that this is a change from the "norm" that everyone is accustomed to, but it will be a best practice for the transportation department moving forward working with the Transfinder routing software as we have gained more knowledge about how to utilize its function and design to improve our student transportation data. This will allow us to provide the schools and parents with the MOST accurate information regarding the bus routes, student ridership and times. Transporting students safely always remains our highest priority!

Bobbie Bernard, HES nominated Related Arts Teachers: Lindsee Howard (guidance), Madison Church (art), Katie Brabham (music), Lauren Gladson (STEM), Caleb Hutson (PE), and Becky Redding (Library) The Related Arts team at HES demonstrates exceptional dedication to fostering a thriving learning environment for our Bearcats. Through consistent weekly collaboration, they align their teaching efforts to reinforce key concepts and vocabulary across content areas, based on the standards. Beyond their instructional contributions, this team provides invaluable leadership by coordinating our school-wide positive behavior initiative, 4-H clubs, and monthly celebratory assemblies. Recently, they organized a trip to the movie as a SWPB reward. This highly effective team functions seamlessly, providing consistent support to the other teachers and serving as a vital and integral part of the HES community. #BearcatPride
