We are excited to see our Bearcats tomorrow. Breakfast will be served and school begins at 7:55. We will dismiss at 11:30. Make sure your student knows how he/she is getting home. Feel free to send a note to your student's teacher. Please bring ID if you are getting car rider tags. It's going to be great year at HES!

For Monday, August 5th ONLY, we will be using the afternoon route for both morning and afternoon car duty! *Families who do not have a car rider tag, may pick one up Monday morning with proper ID. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• We have had a few questions regarding our drop-off/pickup process for car riders. Below is a diagram for both drop-off and pickup. 🐾 Morning Drop-Off: Families will use the parking lot closest to Food City. Once you turn off of Park Blvd., you will pull straight up to the flag pole and drop your student off there. There will be a teacher on duty to ensure your child gets into the building safely. 🐾 Afternoon Pick-up: Families will use the same parking lot for afternoon duty as they do in the morning. However, once you pull into the parking lot, you will pull to the left and wait in line until your child’s name is called by a staff member on duty. ‼️At HES, safety is our top priority! Therefore, anyone picking up a student in the car rider line, will need a car rider tag. If you do not have a tag, you will be asked to pull over to the main parking lot and go to the office to sign the child out.

We are so excited for another great year and look forward to seeing our Bearcats on Monday, August 5th for our first official day of school!! 💙💛 Just a few points of information for the 1st day: 🐾 Doors will open at 7:15 am. Car riders, please use the lower parking lot near Food City if you wish to drop off your child. 🐾 All students should arrive prior to 7:55 am to avoid being tardy. 🐾 All students eat for FREE and will have the option of cereal or Dutch waffles for breakfast. If students wish not to eat, they will report to the gym. 🐾 School will dismiss early at 11:30. Please make sure your child knows how he/she will be getting home. In the event that the Rooms app is not working, please feel free to write a note to your child’s teacher.

Welcome Back
Parents and guardians, we will be fully enforcing our cell phone expectations, particularly at the high school level this school year, beginning August 5. As a reminder, we did not allow cell phone use in classrooms last year. This year, we will move to not allow cell phones to be used during school. This is in accordance with Board Policy 6.312, which states, “Middle school students’ cell phones and other electronic devices are to be turned off and not visible upon a student’s arrival to school (upon entering the school building) until the end of the student’s school day. High school students are not permitted to use cell phones during or between classes unless it is for academic purposes, under direct supervision of a classroom teacher.” Thank you for your understanding and support.

“The Tennessee Department of Health requires all children entering 7th grade to have a T-dap booster vaccine, Tetanus-Diphtheria and Pertussis. Children entering the 7th grade must show proof of this immunization to be admitted to school in August. If you have not already done so, please make an appointment with your health care provider or local health department for your child’s vaccine. All immunizations must be on the official TN Dept. of Health Certificate. Please turn your documentation into your school. Children with medical exemptions must provide documentation from their medical provider. Religious exemptions require a signed statement by the parent/guardian that vaccination(s) conflict with their religious tenets or practices. Thank you.”
